- ↑ Personal recollection of events witnessed by Dick Bowers as remembered 11 Nov 2019. From NY passenger List from Ancestry. Com, Joe Bauer came to the USA from Germany around 1850. He was 27 yrs old. The manifest indicated he was a shoemaker. Ancestry says his parents wre Johannes Jacob Bauer and Catharina Blees. He was born in Bruecken, Pfatz, Bavaria Germany. He may of been a twin, but he was the only survivor a he twin and older brother both died in 1824.
