According to her death record Amanda (Bowers) Rymer was born at Strait Creek, and died at Strait Creek when she was 29 years old on 10 November 1873, making her birthyear 1844. Her parents were recorded as Wm and Margt Bowers, her husband Thomas J. Rymer.[1] She was buried in the Wagner Cemetery at Monterey, Highland County, Virginia.[2] She married Thomas J. Rymer on 1 February 1866 at Highland County, Virginia. Her parents were recorded on the record as Wm Bowers and Margt Bowers.[3][4] They appear to have had at two children together.
In 1850 she was living with her parents at District 25, Highland County, Virginia.[5]
She was living with her parents and five siblings at Monterey, Highland County in 1860.[6]
She was living with her husband, two children and Annie and William Strathy at Monterey, Highland County, Virginia in 1870.[7]
