Biography

Sir William Bowes (dspm. 30 Oct 1611 Walton).[1]

He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth at Greenwich in 1586.

Marriage

William married twice. His first wife was Mary Scrope (d. 1588). He remarried to the widow of Godfrey Foljambe: Isabel Wray, daughter of Sir Christopher Wray and Ann Girlington.
