From Ray Settles, 1/11/2000 to jd - Just received word from Wayne Wilbur, researcher of the Bowlin family. He has documents that prove the parents of Mary Bowlin. I used a letter written by my Great Great Grandfather, Darius Waldrop, he wrote on a piece of paper that his mother, Mary Bowlin Waldrop was the daughter of Deasymine Bowlin. We now know that Deasymine was really Jeremiah Bowlin. Where in the world Darius came up with Deasymine, unknown, unless perhaps, Jeremiah was a first name and Deasymine a middle name? Nevertheless, there are documents in San Augustine County, Texas, documents from the estate of Jeremiah Bowlin, that clearly state, that Mary Bowlin Waldrop wife of Claiborne Waldrop is the daughter of Jeremiah and Elizabeth Bowlin. The Bowlin family was living in Teneha area of East Texas, just accross the border from the Waldrops in Sabine Parish, Louisiana.......We had long thought this a possibility, but had not the information to prove it. Thanks to Wayne and his Bowlin researching friends we now have 2 additional ancestors and more family members.
