Thomas' land holdings were divided after 1879, when his wife Rhoda passed. The mountain tract went to Powhatan, Pocohantus, John Taliaferro, and Frances Susan Bolling. 2 Campbells are mentioned: D. L. Campbell, guardian for Mittie Campbell. Homestead tract went to William Henry Bolling, and son Archibald Bolling and Nancy Massie, Marcellus Bolling. Marcellus was raised by Thomas and Rhoda, after his parents deaths. Nancy died in childbirth, Archibald died of pneumonis when Marcellus was 7.

I know there is a cemetery on the old Tom Bowling place, land which Rhoda Campbell Bowling inherited from her father John Campbell. I have seen it, but Mrs. White (who was living there) did not know if he was buried there. Shirley Craft, May 2013

Rhoda Campbell, the daughter of John and Frances (DeMasters) Campbell, was the mother of John T. Bowling.

Look in my book FOUR FAMILIES..... on pp. 52-60 and you will see that all of John Campbell's children were named in his will (Amherst Co. WB9, p. 379). John even named "Rhody" the "wife of Thomas Bowling."

And, secondly, Thomas Bowling named all his children in his will and the division of his property in Nelson County DB21,p. 272 and 273. You can find this in my book also on pp. 24-28. John T. Bowling was their 5th child.
