Biography

John Bowling was born before, and christened on, 8 April 1625 in Chorley, Lancashire, England ^[1], the son of Hughe Bowling and Ellyn (Ellen) Finch and the brother of Hugh Bowling, James Bowling, Roger Bowling, Thomas Bowling, Anne Bowling, William Bowling, Margaret Bowling, Elizabeth Bowling, William Bowling, James Bowling, Roger Bowling, Thomas Bowling, Elizabeth (Bowling) Speake and Richard Bowling.

John married Mary (Unknown) in about 1664 but it is not yet known where John and Mary married, but possibly in Lancashire, England. Their sons were John Bowling and Richard Bowling and they possibly had more children but research is required.

It is not clear when, but John migrated to Maryland, to escape the persecution the family were under as Roman Catholics, but it is known that it was some time after his brother, James in 1658, and before the birth of his youngest child in about 1665.

John died on 22 November 1684 in Calvert, Maryland, British Colonial America.
