Biography
Emmett Ervin Bowling was born on April 18, 1910 in Franklin County, Virginia, his father, Clarendon Bullen, was 44 and his mother, Mary Elizabeth McBride (SIssy), was 40.
He married Angie Williams on December 23, 1933, in Roanoke County, Virginia. They had seven children in 13 years.
