Biography

Benjamin, son of Sparling Bowman and Elanor Hixson, was born about 1789 at Green County, TN. He died about 1855 at Dent County, MO, and was buried in the Bowman Family Cemetery there.[1]

He married Mary 'Millie' SKILES, daughter of William SKILES Jr and Elizabeth MILLER, on 16 Sep 1823 at Greene County, TN.[2]

The 1840 census of Greene County, TN, listed Benjamin Bowman with 1 male 5-9, 1 male 10-14, 1 male 30-39, 2 females 10-14, and 1 female 30-39.[3]
