I trace back to multiple colonial Virginia families, Samuel Jordan arrived 1610, Cecily Reynolds (?) 1611, Capt. William Farrar 1618, Joseph Royall 1622/23, Katherine Banks 1640, Robert Bowman Sr abt 1650 (an Obama ancestor?), John Cosby abt 1630, Jean Pasteur abt 1690, J. Faure abt 1695, Clark, Cook, Wade, Johnson, Vaughn and others. I was a beta tester for Ancestry.com DNA testing and I have done Y-chromosome testing on FamilyTreeDNA.com (that match confirming descent from Robert Bowman Sr who settled in Roxdale Hundred circa 1650). The DNA is G-M201, relatively rare. No Bowman links back to England. aUser name on ancestry.com is jlbowman1. My tree on genealogy.com was originally a FamilyTreeMaker.com user page site, and that work is about 20 years old online. J Bowman, Cherryville NC

Denise, I do not recall receiving and reading your prior message, but about two weeks ago I severely sprained my right knee and my activities on the computer have been restricted as well as my general mobility subsequently. I will look through my saved emails to see if I mishandled your earlier message. I am interested in joining and participating. In my research on my family I come across entries in deeds, wills and other transactions that should be preserved in your project files. My apologies for not responding sooner. I look forward to working with you and the Black Heritage Project.

Hi Jim,

I sent you a private message on October 28, 2021 to join the US Black Heritage Project. It would have been in an email from WikiTree with the subject heading "Your WikiTree Page" I am following up as I haven't heard from you. Did you receive my message? Denise Jarrett

Hi James,

Thanks for creating pre-1700 profile William Clark (abt.1700-abt.1760).

Per our community standards, all pre-1700 profiles require at least one reliable source in order to create a new profile.

Therefore, please return to William Clark and provide one. If you need help finding one, please look to the US Southern Colonies Project for assistance.

Thanks.

-William
