Biography

John was born about 1700. He passed away about 1755. He was one of three children (along with Robert and Sarah) born to the marriage of John Bowman Jr and Sarah Royall. About 1716 Sarah Bowman married John Knibb, who died in 1726, and after her death circa 1636, Henrico court records show John and his brother Robert jointly inventoried and managed the estates of John Knibb and Sarah Bowman Knibb. John married Mary Cook, daughter of William Cook, and executed his will in 1755 which was recorded in Chesterfield Count. The records do not clearly show how close John Bowman lived to the old Bowman holdings in Roxdale Hundred. Surviving Henrico County records from the 1730s establish John Bowman's residence there and payment of Land levy fees there. [1] The 1756 will of John Bowman of Chesterfield, Virginia

Bowman-11001 and Bowman-12130 are a match and should be merged. My y-chromosome results should appear in the merged profile.

Bowman-12130 and Bowman-11001 appear to represent the same person because: John Bowman III was the son of John Bowman Jr and Sarah Royall, the daughter of Joseph Royal Jr and sister to Joseph Royal III both of whom witnessed the will of John Bowman Jr. John III was born around 1700. He had two full siblings, Robert III who married Brown Farrar and Sarah who married a Knibb. John III named a son Joseph. He left a will naming his children.
