Robert Bowman was born about 1811 in Filleigh, Devon, England, son of Robert Bowman (1778– 1845). He was baptised on 4 Sep 1811 at Filleigh, his parents recorded as Robert and Ann Bowman.[1]
In the 1851 census, Robert Bowman was listed at Brook End Farm, Burnham, Buckinghamshire (aged 40, unmarried, born Filleigh, Devon) "Land surveyor and manager of 1520 acres for the Lady Grenville employing 54 labourers: Steward" [2]
Robert Bowman died on 26 August 1865 at Chittlehampton, Devon. His sister Sarah Bowman was named as executrix in his will.[3]
