Joseph was born in 1803 in North Carolina. Joseph Bowman married Sarah Little, daughter of Jacob Little of Catawba County, North Carolina. They lived and died on the farm located between the Catawba River and Mountain creek on the east side of v the creek, opposite his father' s home.[1]
