According to her daughter Fannie's death certificate, Agnes was born in Port Dalhousie, a village in Lincoln County.[1]
In the 1851 Census of Canada West (Ontario), Agnes was recorded as a widow living with her three youngest children, Fanny, Alex and Amanda, in the town of Brantford.[2] In the 1861 Census of Canada West, she was recorded living in Brantford with Amanda.[3] In the 1881 Census of Canada, she was recorded living with her son Alexander in Brantford next door to her daughter Fannie Grantham or in the same household.[4]
