Dan[ie]l Bowman appears in the 1860 United States Federal Census as a 46-year-old farmer with $30,000 in real and $6000 in personal property, living with his wife, Sally, and ten children, five sons and five daughters. A 39-year-old white female and a 28-year-old white male farm laborer with $800 in personal property also live with them. (Note; the real property value is transcribed as $30,000, but I believe the amount entered was actually $20,000. (Patricia Prickett Hickin 7 May 2018). All the older children had attended school.
