DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:
Just to let you know, when Peter's profiles were merged, all of the data was piled on top of each other, creating duplicates with different file numbers, etc. Honestly, it made a bit of a mess of all your hard work. I also noticed that many of the links, most from Ancestry, don't work any more. They should be removed or replaced.
(If you already know this and just haven't had time, please skip this part of the note.) If you look at Nancy's profile (Bowman-4157), you will be able to see the new standard. I prefer FamilySearch since the links seem to stand up better over time. If you prefer Ancestry, here's a link to citing their resources https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Links_to_Ancestry.
The first time you cite a reference, you put the entire link. Here's the 1850 Census record from Nancy's profile:
<ref name=1850C>"United States Census, 1850," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M8DM-69F : 4 April 2020), Nancy Bower in household of Lewis Bower, Floyd county, part of, Floyd, Virginia, United States; citing family 404, NARA microfilm publication M432 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.).</ref>
Every time the source was cited after that, I put <ref name=1850C/>. The identifying name can be whatever you like as long as it's short and has letters and numbers.
If this leaves you with questions, I'm happy to help.
