He married Fanny Bebbington on the 21st July 1898 at the residence of Mr Robert Campbell in Seadown[1]. The marriage was witnessed by George Bowman, a watchmaker of Ashburton and Lizzie Campbell of Seadown. The ceremony was conducted by John Dickson.
He died in Dunedin on the 5th January 1940[2] and was buried in the same plot as his wife at Anderson's Bay Cemetery[3] on the 7th January.
