Earl was born in 1941. He was the son of Enloe Bowman and Narcie Sneed. He passed away in 2010.

Sgt. 1st Class Earl D. Bowman, U.S. Army, retired, of Farragut, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at home surrounded by family.

Born Jan. 18, 1941 in Decatur, he was one of a set of triplets. He served two tours each in France, Vietnam, Germany and Korea, and retired after 21 years in the U.S. Army. He worked for TVA for 22 years, retiring in 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enloe and Narcie Bowman; one sister, Bobbie Embry; an infant brother; Marvin; and his stepmother, Mattie Bowman.

Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Macht and her husband, Ben, and Betty Wilson; grandchildren, Ryan Harris, Jacob Macht and Holly Bates; his former wife, Regine Bowman; his triplet siblings, Burl Bowman and his wife, Clara, Jurl Lovelace and her husband, Carl, all of Knoxville; brothers, Clyde Bowman and his wife, Jerri, of Ocala, Fla., Barney Taylor and his wife, Sherry, Allen Bowman and his wife, Janice, and Tony Bowman and his wife, Debbie, all of Decatur, and Alvin Bowman and his wife, Dana, of Riceville; sisters, Patti Jo Waller and her husband, Junior, Mary Farmer and her husband, Charlie, Linda Lamb and her husband, Johnny, and Peggy Bowman, all of Decatur; and a host of nieces and nephews.

It was known by everyone who knew Earl that he was a loving father and grandfather, was kind and generous and had a huge heart. He will be greatly missed and in our hearts and prayers forever.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday at Click Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at noon with the Rev. Mark Allison officiating. Burial will follow in Grigsby Chapel UMC Cemetery with full military honors conferred by the U.S. Army.

Click Funeral Home, Farragut Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
