Biography

James' birth and death records appear not to be in the Hinshaw and Hazard Quaker transcripts. The marriage entry does name him as the s/o Samuel and Sarah and he is named in his father's will. (see that profile)

In the "Bowne Family of Flushing, Long Island" James appears last is the list of children of Samuel/Sarah after sister Sarah (est. birth 1726), hence an estimated birth of 1728. His will was signed 6 Oct. 1781 and first probated 19 Mar 1784. (source #2)

James names wife Caroline, sons Walter and John, daughters Catherine, Elizabeth, Mary, and Caroline in his will.
