Elizabeth "Bessie" Bowyer (married name Penna) was born in 1879 in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia, daughter of Mary Ann (Rowe) Bowyer and William Bowyer.^[1]

Bessie died on 24 August 1967 in Box Hill, Victoria, aged 88 years.^[2] Her remains were buried on 25 August 1967 at Campbells Creek, Victoria.^{[citation needed]}
