OBITUARY: Dolores LaVerne Pachta passed away peacefully and went to be with our Lord Friday, Aug. 3, 2012. LaVerne was born on November 27, 1937 in Rocky Ford, Colo., to Louis and Hilda Mae (Foste) Box. She was affectionately known as "Bug" to family friends and teachers.
Bug grew up and attended schools in Rocky Ford. She worked the majority of her life; waitress at Polly's Café, Larry Bates Restaurant and The Fireside Inn, tailored clothing for Larry Walker's Men's Store, telephone operator for Mountain Bell and Pacific Bell, bartender at the Elks Club in La Junta and worked in accounting at the Wal-Mart in Belen until her retirement. LaVerne never met a stranger and loved plants and flowers. She will be truly missed by all.
LaVerne and Jack Pachta were married in Santa Fe Aug. 5, 1959. They resided in Rocky Ford when Jack was employed with Valco for several years. They relocated to Moriarty, where they owned and operated a hardware store.
LaVerne is survived by daughters Jennifer (Steve) Silliman of Bosque Farms and Kelley (Bob) Parker of Sulfur, La.; brother Eugene (Edith) Box of Henderson, Nev.; sister Norma Jean Lloyd of Rocky Ford; sisters-in-law Lea (Harvey) Box of Federal Heights, Wash., Armatha Pachta of Taylor, Ariz., Dona Pachta of Pueblo, Colo., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband Jack, parents Louis and Hilda Mae, brother Harvey Box, sister Viola Allen, sister-in-law Caroline Pachta, brothers-in-law Charlie Pachta, Hank Pachta, Eugene Allen and Norman Lloyd and grandson Clint Roberts.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bug's life will be held in Raton, Friday, August 17, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pastor Kurt England of Valley Community Church of Rocky Ford will officiate.
