In a letter dated 21 August 1915, John Alexander Boyce wrote to his eldest son, Austin Alexander Rodney Boyce, ‘I at once pencilled a copy of our family tree, which is inscribed in my father’s [WMB] handwriting on the front page of our family Prayer book [sic] … My father’s Grandfather seems to have been the Vicar of Edgeworth Town [sic] in Co. Longford, Ireland, about the middle of the 18th Century, say 1750 or thereabouts [see below].’ This family tree was amongst AARB’s papers. I believe that this ‘Prayer book’ (or bible?) was at Fernside, Toowoomba, the home of JAB, because WMB died there, and JAB was his only son. This tree gives details of the Boyce and Thwaites families.
