Descendant of John Ganzer Spires.
Leilia was born in 1909,[1] the oldest daughter and second of five children to William Charles Boyd Sr and Jessie McSwain. Her siblings were: Leon, Lindsey Carlton, Cleveland, and Unnamed Infant Girl; her younger half-siblings were: William Charles Jr and Eula Mae.

Discrepancy in DOB: The FindaGrave memorial states her DOB is 1909 but a photo of a headstone with inscribed dates is not available, just a blank slab. The death index record has a birth year of 1919, but it is more likely she was born in 1909 based on the 1910 census record.
