William was married to Mary TYLEE (1855-1942), in Victoria, in 1875.^[3]

Death:William died at Argle Gully, near Smythesdale on 13 June 1912. ^[4]

Death notice:^[5] BOYD.— On the 13th June, at his late residence, Smythesdale, William, beloved husband of Mary Boyd, aged 61 years.

His widow Mary moved to Geelong, and died there in 1942.^[6]
