Biography

Robert was baptised 25 October 1812, in Hatfield, date of birth given as 17 September 1812. Both grandparents identified in the baptismal record.^[1] He was child 9 in the family.^[2]

Robert (widower), age 33 (blacksmith) son of Sep's (tailor) married Mary Field (widow), age 35 daughter of Edward Middleton (Files*th) on 2 November 1843 at Sheffield, Cathedral Church Of St Peter & St Paul.^[3] His address was Trafalgar Street, she was of Lambert Street, witnessed by Alfred Middleton and I Hudson.

Mary Boyd died before 1871, when Robert was recorded as widowed. There is a Mary Boyd age 58, died 3rd quarter 1864.^[4]

Robert's death was registered Sheffield, 2nd quarter 1885, age 74.^[5] Burial was 4 June 1885, Sheffield City Road Cemetery^[6]
