Biography
Thomas was born about 1819. He was the son of Susanna and Hugh Boyd/Boyde.
Thomas was one of 12 known children including John, Richard, William abt 1837 , Florence abt 1825, Alexander, Robert, Rebecca abt 1831, Henry 1834, Susanna abt 1827, Mary Jane 1848 and Hugh. [1]
His mother was deceased between 1848 and 1851 and his father, Hugh Boyd died in 1865. [2]
Thomas was a Farmer and lived in Drimitten.
He married twice. His first was to Isabella, daughter of Richard Boyd of Templecrone. They married on 31 December 1850 at Templecrone. Two children were born in their marriage, sons Thomas and Hugh.
His second marriage as a Widower was on 16 March 1865 at the Ardara Parish Church to Rachel Baskin. James John Evans and William Buchanan were witnesses.
Thomas and Rachel had 9 children in the marriage, 7 survived. Known children were Isabella, Margaret, John, Catherine (Cassie), Annie Jane, Rachel, Elizabeth (Lizzie), Thomas Hugh and Eliza Jane.
Thomas Boyd was 83 when he died in 1902. His son Thomas was present and informant of his death.
