Little Eva was the stage name of Eva Boyd, an American singer in the mid-1960s. Her biggest hit was the original version of "The Loco-Motion."
Eva Narcissus Boyd was born on 29 June 1943 in Belhaven, North Carolina.[1][2][3] Her parents were David Boyd and Laura Bouggs.[2] She was the 10th of 13 children of David & Laura Boyd. (Eva was named after her aunt. As a result, her aunt became "Big Eva" and she became "Little Eva.).
In 1962 her recording of "The Loco-Motion" was a major success, reaching #1 in the United States and selling over a million copies.[3]
She passed away on 10 April 2003 in Kinston, North Carolina.[1][2][3]
