- DNA testing of a grandchild and other great-grandchildren who share only their grandfather/great grandfather's DNA show a strong match to a Boyd family from County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
Christian name is assumed as son John's first child was named Eliza Ellen although she chose to go by the name Martha Ellie.
Recent triangulated DNA results also show quite a strong connection to others with McDonald's among their ancestors and again there is no Y-DNA match so a female ancestor of John McCracken is suspected.
