The Late Mr. John Boyd. of Dry River, took place on Thursday evening last week. Mr Boyd the night before was at the Quaama School of Arts, one of a merry card party, and on the evening of his death had been for a walk to Southern's saw mills. He was returning home and had reached within a few paces of the house when he collapsed and died from heart failure. He was dead when found by his wife a few minutes after. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon, the remains being interred in the Church of England portion of the Cobargo cemetery. . He took a keen interest in the Cobargo Agricultural Society, and at Quaama was interested in the local sporting and public institutions. Mr. Boyd was an Irishman and a native of Ulster. He came to N.S.W. when only a youth, two sisters and two brothers emigrating at the same time. All are now dead. He arrived in the State over 50 years ago, and came to the Illawarra district. He married at 20 years of age, Mrs Boyd being a member of the well known Blow family, of Illawarra. Mr and Mrs Boyd resided in the Shoalhaven district for many years, the husband engaging in farming, and at one time having farming interests as well as a butchery and hotel business at Cambewarra. About 20 years ago they came to Bega district, and resided successively on the well known Elmgrove, Daisy Bank, and Springvale properties. Mr Boyd, about 14 years ago, purchased a property at Quaama, and removed there with his family. A couple of years ago he cut the property up into three farms and handed it over to three sons to work, and he and Mrs. Boyd took up their residence in Quaama. Deceased leaves a widow and a family of ten to mourn the loss of an affectionate husband and father. The sons are Alex, William, John, Ernest, Samuel, and Joseph, of whom John, Ernest, and Joseph are residents of Kyogle district (Richmond River). The daughters are Mrs Evison (Cambewarra), Mrs R. Spence (Cobargo), Mrs John McGregor (Brogo) and Mrs W.F. Kennedy (Quaama.) The Memorial Service held in St. Saviour's Church of England, Quaama,
