Settled in Salem District, Richardson Co., NB in 1854. In the History of Richardson Co., NB, Abner was listed as already settling in Salem Precinct in 1857 as a farmer along the Nemaha River. On 3-31-1859 he was living in Richardson Co., NB when he bought land from Hiram N. and Elizabeth E. Upton in Holt Co., MO. NB Territorial Census Index's for 1855, 1856 and 1857 show Abner living in Salem TWP, Richardson Co., NB." Quote continues: "1860 Federal Census for Montgomery Co., IL lists Abner C. Boyd, Donnelson P.O. Listed on the special census of 1876 Holt Co., MO. with his father and mother. . . . . . He married Mary Catherine Sponenburgh, 12-09-1846 in Rushville, Schuyler, IL, b. 00-00-1832 in VT/NY, d. in Holt Co., MO, buried: Tarkio Chapel in Bigelow, Holt Co., MO"
