William was born on 27 August 1862/3, in Marshallton, Wilmington, Delaware ("Tod's Cut") [or "Henry Clay"??], to Alexander Boyd and Nancy (Annie) Nelson. [1] [2]

He married Elizabeth Eggleton Irvin, on 22 December 1886, in Wilmington, Delaware. He was living at 1917 Lincoln Street, Wilmington, Delaware. He was a milkman. [1] They had eight children: [2] [3]
