Biography

Willard Sterling Boyle was born on August 19, 1924 in Amherst, Nova Scotia.[1]

Willard was awarded the Nobel prize in Physics in 2009 "for the invention of an imaging semiconductor circuit - the CCD sensor" (with George E. Smith).[1]

He died on 7 May 2011 in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada.[1]
