Biography

Sherman was born in 1892 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the son of William and Sadie (Sherman) Boyle. [1] [2] [3] He married Myrtle Genevieve Blomgren on 4 May 1916 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. [3] He worked as a railroad agent for the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railroad. [4]

In 1895, the Boyle family lived in Black Hawk County, Iowa, [5] but apparently moved out of the state again between then and 1915, when Sherman moved back to Iowa. After marrying Myrtle, they lived in Paton, Iowa, from at least 1917 [6] to 1921. [7] He had lived in Iowa for ten years by the time of the 1925 Iowa Census. [8]

In 1930, the family had moved to Hampton, Iowa, where he ran a furniture store.[9] In 1935, they lived in Humboldt, Iowa, then in Perry, Iowa, by 1940. [4]

He passed away in 1948, in Perry, Iowa, and was buried in Gowrie, Iowa. [10]
