Biography

Nancy Boydston was born June 30, 1745, in Prince William county, Virginia, a daughter of David Boydston aka Boydstun and Mahala Snow. ^[1]

On June 30, 1761, Nancy Boylston married Joshua Yeates. Children of Nancy and Joshua were born in Loudoun county, Virginia:

• Sebella (Sibellen) Yeates, born 17 Aug 1763, , died January 30, in Loudoun county, married William Owsley, a son of John Owlsey and Ann Stephens

• William Yeates, born 26 Nov 1765, died October 3, 1865, in Bourbon county, Kentucky, married Susannah Higgins, a daughter of John Higgins and Nancy Woodruff

• Benjamin Yeates, born 17 Dec 1767, died December 1, 1830, in Shelby county, Kentucky, married (Margaret) Vineta Ford, a daughter of John Ford and Rachel Spencer

• Nancy Yeates, born 30 Mar 1769, died August 24,1849, in Henry county, Kentucky, married John Poston, a son of Francis Poston, Jr. and Anne Jones

Nancy (Boylston) Yeates died May 29, 1824 in Kentucky. ^[3]

Researchers Notes

Descendants of Joshua Yeates and Nancy made application to the Daughters of the American Revolution, stating that he died May 6, 1831, in Montgomery county, Kentucky. According to the DAR, the service claimed belonged to Joshua Yates, born 1742, in Anne Arundel county, Maryland, who died there in 1793 and did not have service in Loudoun county, Virginia. The applicants used the name "Nancy Boilston" and named Benjamin's wife as "Verlinda Ford." ^[4]
