Biography
Philip de Brabant is named as a son of Henry II, Duke of Brabant and his first wife Maria of Hohenstaufen, Princess of Germany in two genealogies of that family.
His birth date is unknown, but in the Genealogia Ducum Brabantiae Ampliata,[1]he is listed as the second son, and in the Genealogia Ducum Brabantiae Heredum Franciae,[2] he is named again as the second son, but after his four sisters, which may be an indication he was the youngest child. In both genealogies he is listed as having died in infancy.
He was buried in St Peter in Lowen, between the tomb of his mother, and the foot of the altar.[2]
