Ernest Braddock was born in 1895 in Queensland, Australia. He was the son of George Braddock and Maria (Vernon) Braddock. [1]
Ernest Braddock passed away in 1909 at Queensland, Australia [2]
The funeral of the young lad Ernest Braddock aged 13, who died on Sunday from an attack of tetanus, the result of a cut in the foot from a glass bottle, took place yesterday afternoon, and was a large one, testifying to the high esteem in which the dearest lad was held.
A large number of the Newtown State School scholars, accompanied by Mr. McGrath head teacher, marched in front of the hearse. On either side marched the members of the Walker Street Methodist Choir, to which deceased was a prominent and useful member.
A number of the Sunday School scholars were also present. Fifty or more wreaths had been sent by members of all sections of the community. Most Prominent among these was one of particularly nice design, and presented by the members of the above named choir. Six male members of the choir acted as pall bearers.
The impressive service of the Methodist Church for the burial of the dead was read at the grave side by the Rev. E. G. Walker, who delivered a brief and touching address. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. Kirk and Son.
The deceased was a particularly bright and gifted lad along musical lines, and not a few hid predicted for him a brilliant musical career. For three years he won in succession the Choral Society's medal for soprano solo for boys under fifteen. This he accomplished under the tuition of Miss Wiles, and Mr. Dingle. He also gave promise of being an accomplished organist.
