Note: The story that I have been told is that Jane died before George and Howard were 16 years of age. Leonard Parker was old enough to take the two younger boys and run away one time. It is told me that Their father was physicaly abusive. The preacher at the penticostal church he attended told him to "Beat the Devil" out of the boys. Leonard Parker Wendleton Lived in Merwin Missouri when his children were born. Another story was told me about his children not wanting to spend the night with Their Grandpa because the beds were always dirty. His second wife was said to be crazy (and obviously not a good house keeper). So My Aunt Myrtle (who I am named for) would take the boys over to see their Grandfather but would not leave them there until she had checked the beds to make sure they were clean. This story tells me that my Grandmother was already dead when Leonard was raising his children. My Father and Uncle Howard moved here to California with My Uncle Leonard and his family. Glen, obviously, stayed behind. I never Knew he even existed until I found the census record naming him as the oldest son.
