John Bradford was born about 1618 in Leyden, Holland and died just before September 21, 1676 in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut. When William Bradford and his wife Dorothy left Holland for the new world, John Bradford was left behind in Leiden, Netherlands. It was perhaps 20 years before he joined his father and the other family members he had never met in Plymouth Colony.
John married Martha Bourne and relocated to Norwich, Connecticut. He and his wife did not have any known children. Prior to moving to Norwich, he resided in Duxbury, Massachusetts.
He "was of Duxbury in 1645, and in 1652 he was a deputy to the General Court, and a Lieutenant. The next year he is noted as of Marshfield, which he also represented in 1653." (Fessenden)
