Hosea was born 1763 (probably not Jul 25 1773, same as sibling,, but Hosea said it was his birthdate) in Springfield, Vermont. [1] His parents were Simon Bradford and Phoebe Winton.
Married (1) Parthenia Smith,[2] Oct 5 1794 in Springfield, Vermont. Parthenia was born Sep 7 1767 and died before 1806. She was the daughter of Isaac and Mary (Briggs) Smith. [1] No Children.
Married (2) Hannah Eastman 1806. She was born Jan 7 1784, d Jun 14 1869 in Bucksville, Ohio. She was the daughter of Ebenezer and Susannah (Wheeler) Eastman. [1]
NOTE: There is a clear error in the Bradford Silver Book, 2004 edition. On page 130, Hosea's birth date is listed as "ca. 1763." On page 528 his birth date is listed as "25 July 1773." Since he has a brother, Joel, who was born on 25 Jan 1773, the July birth date is not possible. Also the July date would change him from being the 4th child to being at least the 8th child.
In Jul 31 1852 Hosea Bradford, in his 79th year, of Olmstead Cuyahoga County, Ohio, where he had lived for 31 years, stated he was born Jul 20 1773 in Springfield, VT, where he lived until he was 24 years old, and that he was the brother of Lucy Bradford who m. John McRoberts.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Hosea by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Hosea:
"Hosea Bradford (#4,355), fifth in descent from William Brandford, was born in Springfield, Vt., 25 July 1773. Shortly after 1806 he moved to Upper Niagara, Canada and in 1813 to the Western Reserve. Thank you for posting. I’m a descendent of Hosea Bradford through my Grandmother Laura Bradford (Bradford-7119) Holtz so I’m very interested in accounts of his life.
