DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Harriet by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Harriet:
Looking through some old papers, I found that my Scottish researcher commented that the marriage details stated that Harriet’s father was a physician in London although she did nor name him. This fits well with other records, but Family search site has no helpful records other than a Harriet Fordyce christened 24/9/1815 St Martin in the Field, London which might have nothing to do with the above.
Having just written the above comment I have traced the Bradford history online at old.manfamily.org/bradford and I am attempting to get conformation that I can use their data on Wikitree as it is so comprehensive.
My detailed family research years ago traced the father of Harriet Bradford, a distant Gt Grandmother, as John. This was recorded as his name appears on the Marriage Banns of his daughter Harriet found on Family Search. However, a very detailed history of the Bradfords found online some time ago (and not currently traced) which I had not checked against this family, gives her parents as Thomas Bradford and Susanna as shown on this Profile, so I wondered if the writer had used the same source, although there seems to be some confusion between dates of birth and baptisms which I will amend in due course. There was no Profile Manager, so I have adopted it.
