Harriet Bradford was born in 1837 and baptised on 25 Jun 1837 in Heather, Leicestershire, England. She was the daughter of a labourer, William Bradford and his wife, Ann Grewcock. [1][2][3]

By 1861, James (24, head, coal miner) and Harriet (24) were living in Mill Lane, Heather, Leicestershire with two children, Eliza (4) and James (2). [6]
In 1871, James (34, head, coal miner) and Harriet (34) were living in Heather with seven children - Eliza (13), James (11), Anne (9), Mary (7), Sarah (5), William (3) and Thomas (1). [7]
