Biography
Kirby Bradford is a part of US Black heritage.
Kirby was born in 1860. His mother was a slave on the Walnut Hill Plantation in Leon County, Florida. Their enslaver was Thomas Anderson Bradford, founder of the planation. Kirby most likely was born on the plantation, as his date of birth was recorded in the plantation journal by Thomas' daughter, Sallie Bradford. It appears from the family grouping in the journal that he was the son of Sarah. His entry has been crossed out which may mean he was stillborn or died shortly after birth.[1]
