Biography

David was born in 1844. He was the son of Jacob Bradford and Mary Elison. He passed away in 1922.

David enlisted at the Union Army during the Civil War on August 15, 1862, and at that time his mailing address was Limberlost, Adams County, Indiana. He was with Company K 89th Regiment of Indiana Infantry Volunteers. He was discharged July 19, 1865 at Mobile, Alabama. His description at the time of enlistment was as follows: Height; 5 ft. 3 in., complexion; dark, color of eyes; black, color of hair, dark. His occupation was a farmer.

In the 1875 Montgomery County, Kansas Farm Census, David Chester Bradford was listed with his oldest daughter as living with his father Jacob Bradford near Havana, Kansas. According to his pension papers, his address was never in Kansas or Oklahoma. We think he was visiting, both in 1875 and 1900, when he was listed with his brother, Archibald Anderson Bradford in Osage, Indian Territory, Oklahoma.

The above information came from David Chester Bradford's pension papers and from the census. Also, his sister's birth date came from his pension papers, seems as he sent in a bible page to prove his birth date and it included Lydia Ann's birth date also. (Clarence Bradford, The History of the Bradford Family)

In the 1920 Census in Pulaski, Ohio, David was living with his daughter, Effie and family.
