Wilfred was born in Burnley, Lancashire, England, on June 9, 1906. He was the son, and only surviving child, of George Bradley and Hannah Howorth. (In the 1911 census, his mother states she had three children but two had died). His birth in Lancashire is a bit of a mystery. It is unknown if his parents had moved there for his father's work, or they were visiting someone when his birth occurred. Wilfred and his parents were back in Yorkshire by 1911. They are enumerated in the census residing in Bradford, West Riding.
Wilfred married Gladys Mabel Turner on August 10, 1929, in Bradford, at St Clement. According to the parish register, Wilfred was a twenty three year old bachelor, and brass finisher, residing at 5 Feldhead Street, Bradford. His father is named as George Lister Bradley. Gladys is listed as a twenty four year old spinster and weaver residing at 31 Fitzroy Road, Bradford. Her father is named as Walter Turner. No children have been found from this marriage, and it appears the couple divorced sometime after 1939. In the 1939 Register, they were living apart, but both indicated their status as married.
Wilfred passed away on October 1, 1943, at St Lukes Hospital, Bradford. His address at time of death was 10 Sheephill Lane, Clayton Heights, Bradford. He was forty seven. His Probate was administered on February 2, 1944, in Wakefield. His father, George Lister Bradley was named.
