Emma Bradley was born about 1843 at Hoo, Kent, England although her parents do not appear to have registered her birth. She was baptised on 21 Jan 1844 at Saint Werburgh Hoo, Kent, England. She was the daughter of Thomas Bradley and Ellen Pointer.[1][2]
In the 1851 census, Emma Bradley was age 7 living at Hoo, Kent with her father Thomas Bradley (28), mother Ellen Bradley (28), siblings Eliza Bradley (4), Thomas Bradley (1).[3]
In the 1861 census, Emma Bradley was age 17 living at Hoo Street, Hoo, Kent as a servant in the household of Henry G Everist. Occupation: Housemaid.[4]
John Wills (spelled Wells in some records) and Emma Bradley married on 24 Mar 1863 at Milton-next-Gravesend, Kent.[5] They had two known children: Emma Wills (1866-1869), Thomas William Wills (b. 1875).
In the 1871 census, Emma Wills was age 27 living at Hoo, Kent with her husband John Wills (31).[6]
In the 1881 census, Emma Wills was age 37 living at High Street, Frindsbury, Kent with her son Thomas W Wills (5), sister Mary A Bradley (19). Occupation: Beerhouse Keeper.[7]
In the 1891 census, Emma Wills was age 48 living at Waterside, Frindsbury, Kent with her husband John Wills (51), son Thomas Wills (15). Also four lodgers.[8]
In the 1901 census, Emma Wills was age 58 living at Frindsbury, Kent with her husband John Wills (61), son Thomas Wills (25).[9]
Emma's husband John Wills died in 1902 and her son Thomas Wills died in 1904.
Emma Wills of the The Crown and Anchor Inn, Upper Upnor, Kent died on 9 May 1905 age 63. She was buried on 14 May 1905 at All Saints Frindsbury, Kent.[10][11][12][13]
