John Bradley (1755-1837) in 1780 was captain of Galley from Georgia, whe re he was born. He
died in Oglethorpe.

Early in 1780 the British forces reoccupied Agusta, GA and strengthened th eir works. They were attacked by Elijah Clark and Major James Jackson, b ut they resisted. When Governor Wright
was placed in his seat again he called a meeting of a loyal assembly, a nd they at once retaliated
on the Whigs by passing an act of attainder and confiscation. This ro ll of honor has been
preserved and is herewith given. It aimed to take in all those who were o bnoxious to the
crown, John Bradley, sea captain was one of the list of men. He could pos sibly be John Henry Bradley's fathert, needs more research. It is plac ed here for information.
