Born 5 April 1821 in Portland, Cumberland, Maine, the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Smith) Bradley.[1][2] Married Nathaniel Saltonstall Howe as his third wife 26 May 1846. They had two children, Susan Bradley (Howe) Sanders and Henry Saltonstall Howe. She died in Boston 12 Aug 1904.[3][4]
From the Proceedings Of The Massachusetts Historical Society Vol 64 Jan 1932:
"Sarah was a sister of Charles Smith Bradley, who graduated from Brown in 1858, studied at the Harvard Law School, served in the Rhode Island General Assembly, and in 1866 was elected Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Rhode Island. It appears, too, that Sarah's great-grandfather was the Reverend Hezekiah Smith. prominent Baptist preacher and Revolutionary War chaplain."
