Edwin Bradock was born in 1839 in Holywell, Flintshire, Wales, he was the son of William Bradock and Mary Bradock (nee Davidson)^[1]

At the time of the 1841 Wales Census, Edwin was living with his parents Williams and Mary, and his brother William in Holywell, Flintshire, Wales^[2]

At the time of the 1851 England Census, Edwin was 12 years old and a child coal miner, he was living with his sister Ellen and his parents William and Mary in Houghton Le Spring, Durham^[3]

In 1856, age 16, Edwin migrated to Australia on his own, he was originally from Durham and a Miner^[4]

At age 24, Edwin married Minna Hellegeist, the daugther of Louis Hellegeist on 24 Dec 1863 in Yadlamalka, South Australia^[5]
