Ernst was born in 1829 (25 Nov. or 28 Dec.) to Alexander Felix Wilhelm Bradtke and Anna Rosina Dorothea Schlinke.[1] He travelled to South Australia with his family aboard the 'Heerjeebhoy Rustomjee Patel' in 1845.[2] Ernst Bradtke married Marie Klenner in 1855.[3] Ernst Bradtke married Anna Eleonore Grosser (formerly Koithan, nee Fischer) in 1897.[4] He passed away in 1898 and was buried in Yongala Cemetery (Section B, Plot 77).[5][6] When Ernst Bradtke died on 9 April 1898 he left his estate, including the land, to his wife Ann Eleonore. She sold the land to Otto Ernst Bradtke on 11 May 1899.[7]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ernst by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ernst:
Bradtke-47 and Bradtke-8 appear to represent the same person because: Ernst remarried after his first wife died. He married the twice-widowed Anna Elenore Grosser (previously Koithan, born Fischer) in 1897 at Neukirch. She is my 3-great grandmother.
