Biography
Charles was born at Drumnagar on the 22 August 1888 to John Brady and Katie O'Reilly. [1]
He is described as a scholar in the 1901 Irish Census. He is living in Drumnagar with his parents John(50), Catherine (45), and siblings James (22), Agnes (15), Mary (9), Ellen (6), and John(5). [2]
The family is somewhat smaller in 1911. Charles is now described as a farmer's son. John and Kate still have Charles, James, Nellie and Mary living with them. [3]
He married Elizabeth Brady on the 11 February 1920 at the Roman Catholic Church in the parish of Laragh. The witnesses were Denis Brady and Minnie Brady. [4]
He died at his home on the 3 June 1976. :Brady (Co. Cavan) - June 3, 1976, at his residence, Drumnagar, Tullyco, Cootehill, Charles Brady: deeply regretted by his loving sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, relatives and friends. RIP Remains will be removed at 8.15 o'c this (Friday) evening to St Brigid's Church, Laragh. Requiem Mass tomorrow (Saturday) at 11 o'c. Funeral immediately afterwards to adjoining cemetery.
