Margaret was born in Tennessee, in about 1824, to parents John Bragg and Elizabeth, maiden name unknown. She married James Faulkenberg/Faulkenberry on May 5, 1840.[1]
The couple had three known children before James' presumed death before 1850, when Margaret and the children are living with her parents.[2] In 1860, all four are still living with Margaret's mother.[3]
By 1870, her oldest daughter, Isabella, had married Reese Sullivan. Margaret and daughter, Mary, were then living in the Sullivan household.[4] Her son James had likely also married and formed his own household by this time.
There is no known record of Margaret after the 1870 census. She does not appear in the homes of either Isabella or Mary during the 1880 census, so she had most likely died by that time.[5][6]

Hi, Michelle. I've been doing some work on William Gannon's family and just created a profile for his second wife, Mary Elizabeth Fortenberry/Faulkenberry. From what's on FamilySearch, it looks like her father, James Faulkenberry, married Margaret Bragg, not Mary. The two sisters appear together on the 1850 census in their parents' home, and Margaret is the one with the married name Fortonbury (creative spelling) and James' children. I'm happy to make the edits if you agree. Thanks!
